The latter part of last year and the start of this year has been quite chaotic. Mostly with my day job. This didn't leave much enthusiasm for putting camera in hand. After a bit of a break, I'm feeling a heap more excited about photographic opportunities. Part of this was due to reviewing my images from last year. I'd gotten in a funk where I felt that I hadn't really taken anything worthwhile. Attempting to pick the top 10 images from the year highlighted at least a bit of progression. This puts me in a more positive vibe for 2009. A new 5D2 to play with doesn't hurt either.

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to attend one of koukei (https://www.deviantart.com/koukei)'s studio workshops. It was the most useful day of photography I've experienced. Peter started things out slow, with an overview of his workflow. Basically, how to manage photos once they've come out of the camera. Nothing new, but everything essential. If you don't have a color managed process, you shouldn't be shooting color. Things then turned interesting as we started shooting.
